How do I become a member of Delta Delta Delta ?

Formal recruitment is at the beginning of fall semester. This is a week long event where potential new members have the opportunity to go to each sorority and meet the girls. Each day the potential new members receive a list of houses that have invited them back and choose which houses they would like to attend that day.

Informal recruitment is held throughout the school year. We have events about once a month or you are always welcome to come to dinner on Monday night. This is a chance for you to meet all of us and learn more about the house. If formal recruitment is too intimidating this is the best way to be offered a bid.

Who can live in the Delta Delta Delta house ?

All active members can live in the house. We have one of the nicest houses on campus. Rent is less expensive than the dorms  includes all food, utilities and a cook Monday thru Friday. We have a house mother that lives with us. Besides taking great care of us she manages the house and does our grocery shopping. There are usually a few spaces left open in the house each year so that new members can move in.

How does being in a sorority benefit my academics?

School is our number one priority. School the reason that we are all here. Delta Delta Delta sorority is an organization that helps you in all aspects of your academic career. In order to be in good standing with the chapter all active members must have a GPA of 2.5 or higher. To help our members succeed in school we have an academic chair that is in charge of an academic program. This includes recognition for doing well in school, holding scholarship events to honor our favorite professors, and sister mentor program. Sister Mentor program assigns older girls to new members to help them in classes that they have already taken. All members also have access to the house at all times. We have study rooms and places to relax between classes.

Is Delta Delta Delta like the show sorority life?

Absolutely not! The sorority on that show is not a member of Panhellenic, which is a group that consists of all of the largest sororities in the country. This is a show made for MTV. Everything is very dramatic. "Sorority Life" is not a good representation of Greek life at the University of Utah.
